Symptom Assessment

Currently in the United States, an estimated 28 million people suffer from varying degrees of hearing impairment. As America’s population ages, hearing loss has become increasingly prevalent:

  • 70 percent of all impaired people are older than age 45.
  • Hearing impairment is the third most common problem affecting the Baby Boom generation, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.

The good news is that most hearing losses can be effectively treated with digital amplification. The key for effective treatment and rehabilitation is to identify hearing loss in the early stages. Because the onset of hearing loss tends to be gradual, Audibel has developed a series of questions to help you determine if it’s time for you to seek help.

  • Have you been told that TV is too loud for everyone but yourself?
  • Do you have difficulty following conversations in large groups or noisy places, such as restaurants?
  • Do you often ask others to repeat themselves, especially young children and women?
