Connectivity and Pairing

Many of our hearing aids and hearing aid accessories are smartphone compatible for increased functionality with our smartphone apps. Let us show you how to connect and pair your hearing aids to your iPhone or other Apple smart devices.

Make Your Hearing Aids Discoverable Before Pairing

Before you attempt to pair your hearing aids, you need to ensure that they are “discoverable”, meaning smartphone and other smart devices can find them via Bluetooth. Follow these steps to make your hearing aids discoverable:

Check that your smartphone or Apple device has Bluetooth connectivity enabled. You can confirm whether your Bluetooth connectivity is enabled from your device’s Settings.

  1. If the Bluetooth icon is highlighted blue, Bluetooth is enabled.
  2. If the icon is not highlighted and instead shows a slash through it, Bluetooth is disabled.
  3. Toggle disable to enable by simply tapping the icon.

Then, go to your device’s Settings and select the Accessibility submenu. From there, select Hearing Devices.

Turn your hearing aids OFF then ON to make them discoverable to your Apple device.

At this point, your hearing aids should appear under Available Devices in your iPhone, iPad or Apple Mac’s Hearing Devices menu.

Please note, it may take a minute for your devices to appear.

You can now go to the next section(s).

Connect Your Hearing Aids to Your iPhone or iPad

Please note, if you have already paired your hearing aids to another Apple device, you may need to disable Bluetooth connectivity on those devices to free up the connection to them. Once you have successfully paired your hearing aids to your new device, you can re-enable Bluetooth connectivity on your other devices.

  • Under MFi Hearing Devices, select your hearing aids’ name (e.g. Jane’s hearing aids).
  • A dialog box should appear for each hearing aid, both left and right. Select Pair for each device.

Congratulations! You have successfully paired your hearing aids to your iPhone and/or iPad.
